Shubra al-Khayma is the fourth largest city in Egypt. The city is in Al-Qalyubiyah governorate and located in the north of Greater Cairo as a part of its agglomeration. The city is known to be inhabited by workers and their families who work in surrounding factories since the 1940's. Its estimated population is around 1 million people.
