While a number of areas are designated as national parks, Yankari National Park is the one that has the most facilities. Like the other park areas, it is known for its birds.

However, this park also features large mammals – elephants, waterbuck, and bushbuck. Monkeys, baboons, and crocodiles are also found in Yankari. In most parks of Nigeria, the large mammals have been wiped out, including cheetahs, giraffes, black rhinos, and giant eland. Yankari also has natural springs called Wikki Warm Springs.
