Ogbomosho
Nigeria’s forth-largest city, is north-east of Ibadan. It was founded in mid-1600s and resisted Fulani invasions in the 1800s. Today, Ogbomosho is a trade centre and highway junction that ships foodstuffs, livestock, yams and tobacco.
The population was approximately 1,200,000 as of March 2005. The majority of the people are members of the Yoruba ethnic group.
