Details / Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden
The world-renowned garden covers an area of 5.3 sq km, of which 7 percent is cultivated and 90 percent is covered by natural fynbos and forest. Kirstenbosch is spectacular from ‘August to October when the garden is ablaze with spring daisies and gazanias.
Camphor Avenue: This avenue of camphor trees was planted by Cecil John Rhodes around the end of the 19th century to link his cottage in Muizenberg with his Groote Schuur estate.
Conservatory: this glasshouse, with a baobab at its centre, displays all the floral regions of the country, from lush coastal forest to arid and alpine.
