Details / Karoo National Botanical Garden
The Karoo National Botanical Garden, some three kilometres north of Worcester, contains plants that thrive in a semi-desert environment.
Jewel-bright mesembryanthemums are lovely in spring, while the unusual year-round species include the prehistoric welwitschias, and the halfmens and quiver trees.
One section features plants grouped together according to regional and climatic zones. The succulent plant collection, the largest in Africa, is ranked by the International Succulent Organization as one of the most authentic of its kind in the world. There is also trail with Braille text signs.
