In the year 1818 the family Romberg had began to found an english style Landscape Park around their home, the House Brünninghausen. It took about 4 years to complete this nice park. Following years the park was extended by the city of Dortmund . During the World War II the park was destroyed so it had to be rebuilt.
The Rombergpark is an old botanic garden and park placed on a 650,000 square meters area in the south of the city Dortmund. This huge park gives you to see various kind of plants from all around the world. The park has about 400 kinds of plants.
In the north of the you can visit "Schloss Brünninghausen", which was heavily damaged after the World War II. Also since 2004 there is the Sculpture Way, which begins with the artwork "Der Zoogucker" at the entrance of the park. Many works here are the results of a competition between the students in Dortmund.
If you visit Dortmund this is a great place with a great landscape to have a rest during your trip, where you lay on grass and feed the squirrels.
There is not any kind of review about "Rombergpark".
