Details / Rhamnus
![]() |
When you get Rhamnus, you will wonder why it is kept open, with so few visitor, but archaeologist have been working here since 1975 and only a small part of the area is open to everyone. It is hoped that at some time in the near future, when the archaeological work is complete, more of the site will be opened to the public and access improved.
Largely overgrown by nature in an appealing way, the remains at Rhamnus are scattered over a hillside above the sea. Wandering through the ruins you are accompanied by butterflies and lizards that scuttle into cracks in the stones.
