Although archeologists can not agree on a certain decision about Rome's history, it had been accepted as the capital of Italy and the ancient Roman Empire. The city name is famed with a myth about twins Romulus and Remus who were found by a wolf in Tiber River and then fed and grown for sometime by a sheperd who decided to raise them as his own children. The City Rome has many popular and famous places for visitors from all around the world. Located on River Tiber, Apennine Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea surround the "Eternal City" which was once the capital city of the big Roman Empire having the control of a wide area from Mesopotamia to Great Britain.
The population of metropolitan area of Rome is now about 3.3 million. Like other cities in Italy, museums, historical places, public areas, famous churches are waiting for your visit. Just Colosseum could cause to lengthen your stay in Rome. An ancient architecture work, the Pantheon, will make you think of how such a structure was composed. Do not miss to visit Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Piazza del Campidoglio and Popes resident St. Pietro, and finaly search for luck and love near Piazza di Trevi by throwing some coins in your pocket.
