![]() |
The Anne Frank House is a museum in Amsterdam at the border of Jordaan. During the Jewish wartime, while business continues as usual in a visible part of the building, Anne Frank and her family were hiding in the annex out back in an empty section of the building. They started to hide at the begining of 1942.
The Anne Frank House officially opened as museum in May 3 1960. The old hiding place is now a well-known museum. The museum keeps the history of the eight people in hiding and people who helped them during the war. Anne Frank wrote her diary at there, and it is still at the museum on display.
The museum collection comprises Anne Frank's diary, translations, biographies, the plays and film versions, photos, material for teachers about the persecution of Jews and the holocaust, scientific papers on plenty of areas such as education and housing, reports, and backround imformation.
In addition to the historic rooms, it is possible to find other exhibitions on th museum.
