North Brabant is the largest province of the Netherlands located in the south of the country. It's bordered by Belgium in the south, the the Meuse River in the north, Limburg in the east and Zeeland in the west. Den Bosch is the capital of the province, and  Eindhoven is the largest city of its. Tilburg, Breda, Kruisland and Oosterhout are the other cities of North Brabant. North Brabant became a province of the Netherlands in 1795. The province of North-Brabant covers 5,000 square kilometers, and accounts for 14,8% -approximately 2,4 million- of the total Dutch population.

The majority of the population is Roman Catholic. The earliest development of towns and villages took place along the river Maas and its tributaries, and the fortified Roman camps which were the origin of many such afterwards developed in the hands of feudal lords.

Economically, agriculture, industry, and service sectors are main business areas. Wheat and sugar beat are the agricultural products which cultivated mostly. The important industries are electronics, automobile product and textile. 

North Brabant has two universities that provide teaching and scientific research: the Tilburg University and the Technical University in Eindhoven, together facilitating a pool of 18,000 students. Furthermore, there are seven UPEs (Universities of Professional Education) and a large number of intermediate vocational schools, distributed across the province. These institutions support professional, high quality education in a wide range of areas, including  health care, management,, accountancy, economics, chemistry, art,  agriculture, and  technology.

Moreover, tourism is a cardinal sector for North Brabant. The woods and its excellent atmosphere combined with the beauty of some of the cities having proved successful. Especially, Eindhoven, a multicultural metropolis with diverse entertainment options. Other important tourist act is theme park Efteling in Kaatsheuvel.
