Utrecht
Utrecht is the one of twelve provinces of the Netherlands located in the center of the country. It is bounded by the Eemmee, Gelderland, the river Rhine, South Holland, an North Holland from north to northwest, in the direction of the clockwise. The province is the smallest one. Name of the its capital is also Utrecht, and Amersfoort, Zeist, Lopik, Maarssn and Woerden are the other important cities.
The province is popular with its many shopsand wonderful canals. It is full of churces, with restored medieval religious structures. Utrecht has a large diversity of natural beauty and landscapes. Hilly woodland areas alternate with open and broad river and polder districts. Many monuments all over the province bear witness to a glorious cultural-historical past. Many unique castles and country estates can be found along the river Vecht and de Stichtse Lustwarande which is also called Garden of Delight, with Utrecht boast may windmills,old villages, forts and historical towns.
Economic growth is increasingly driven by network processes between companies, research institutes and the education sector. The Province plays a directorial role in bringing these networks together.
