Brasov
Brasov is situated in the south-eastern corner of Transylvania. In the region of Transylvania there are cities that are very similar to those of southern Germany or Austria. Romanian, German, and Hungarian communities co-exist side by side.
It is one of the Romania’s largest cities with a population of 400,000. The city is set in beautiful surroundings - on all sides there are mountains and thick forests of fir and pine. Brasov is often called the most German city Romania. Its population is made up of Germans and Romanians. This Transylvania’s hub has an incredible wealth of medieval architecture in it’s gothic heart. The old town hall and cathedral are built in the Gothic style, under the German influence.
