Downfield Golf Club, recognised as one of the finest inland course in the United Kingdom, it has played host to many events over its long history. Surrounded by thousands of broad-leaved trees at Downfield Golf Club, it lies just ten minutes from the centre of Dundee and is within easy reach of other courses in the area.
Downfield Golf Club sets in a beautiful parkland. Dundee's premier course is a stimulating task to every golfer teeing off at the excellent 1st hole and moving round the rolling contours of the course. There are 100 species including foxes, squirrels, deer, water fowl, ducks and buzzards, as well as many other interesting species scuttling around breathtaking in the area.
There are a extended variety of challenges at Downfield with some water in play on no fewer than 7 holes. There are 5 par fives, from the championship tees and the 11th is one of the finest you will ever see. It is the hole which Pierre Fulke birdied in an 8 man play-off at the Open Qualifying in 1999 to successfully make the Open at Carnoustie, and record a top ten finish.
