Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park, located near Stirling, Scotland, within easy reach of Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Loch Lomond area, was opened in 1970 in the grounds of Blair Drummond house which was purchased by Sir John Kay a Glasgow tea merchant in 1916. The house remained a family home until 1977 when it was sold to the Camphill Trust, a charity that cares for the handicapped. Most of the remaining trees in the park date from the period of the earlier house. Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park has been progressively improved each year, often expanding its collection of animals.
The park include a combination of drive through reserves and walk around enclosures, together with regular sea lion and birds of prey displays and boat trips to Chimpanzee Island. For those who arrive by public transport, a free safari bus is available to take them through the reserves.
There are many picnic and BBQ areas around the park as well as restaurant and bar facilities. There are also BBQ facilities that are available every day, free of charge. For the children there is the Pet Farm, and extensive adventure play facilities and amusements.
