The Museo del Traje has extensive collections of historical costumes and contemporary fashion. The development of clothing is traced from the late sixteenth centrry ot the present day, with examples of regional coutume from all over Spain.

One section is devoted to leading Spanish designers from the 20th century. The textile section includes lace and embroidery, as well as examples of Coptic and Hispano-Muslim designs. The displays are exhibited on a rotating basis to avoid deterioration from excessive exposure to light.

It has a good gift shop, as well as an excellent café and a formal restaurant.
