Details / Cape Enrage
Just a 5-mile drive from Alma at the southeast corner of Fundy National Park lies Cape Enrage. Here towering cliffs overlook Chignecto Bay and afford views of Nova Scotia beyond. The lighthouse at Cape Enrage has been on station since 1838; the current light tower, being restored by a high school in nearby Moncton, is more than 150 years old.
Nearby is the Cape Enrage Marsh Nature Preserve, 65 acres of coastal woods and marshes donated to the province by a local couple. The preserve includes such rare plants as the Adder’s tongue fern. Also on view are interesting red shale and sandstone cliffs containing layered sedimentary deposits.
