The most fertile and luscious land in the whole Canada, sandwiched between two of the Great Lakes, Ontario and Erie. An area crammed full of history. The region is home of the great Welland Canal and boasts a selection of the finest parkland in southern Ontario. The best fruit and vegetables in the province are grown here too.
This part of Ontario is perhaps the best-known bit of Canada in the world – primarily because of the falls. But, as anyone who has ever explored any other part of the Niagara Region will agree, there is far more than that thundering attraction to see here. While the falls are jam-packed with sight-seers, you can escape to quieter retreats free of crowds and rich in delights.
Twenty-seven conservation parks dot the Niagara Region so picnic spots are always near at hand. Special events abound in this area – everything from Oktoberfest celebrations to flower festivals.
