Far away from the pressures of urban life, the Northwest Territories conceal a sparkling landscape of mountains, rivers and canyons. Here visitors can climb, canoe, fish, and watch wildlife.
Many would picture the Northwest Territories, usually referred to as the N.W.T., as a flat and perennially icy slab stretching from the 60th parallel toward the North Pole, with the occasional polar bear or Inuit igloo to give some relief to this monotonous landscape. However, if you look further than a stereotypical picture, you find not one land but a multitude of lands. This wilderness can stir something undiscovered within oneself.
The Northwest Territories cover an immense area of 1.2 million square kilometres. to gain some insight into how large this is – it is roughly the size of France with Corsica, the United Kingdom, and Italy with Sardinia combined.
