Details / Bronte Creek Provincial Park
This fun-filled provincial park, about halfway between Burlington and Oakville, is a favourite for children, but adults are sure to enjoy it too for there is plenty to occupy all ages.
If you are unfamiliar with provincial parks, this is a good place to start because it is wonderfully varied. Bronte is a four-season park with a mixture of natural and man-made facilities. You can swim, picnic, sun-bathe and hike here in summer, or skate, toboggan and cross-country ski in the winter. There are also hiking, jogging, and bicycle trails here, along with wildlife to watch for, from white-tailed deer to woodchuck and countless birds to spot too. Beyond these normal park activates, Bronte offers a host of additional treats and it is here tat t outshines most other parks.
For the children, visit the Children’s Farm. Several play areas are part of the farm, most aimed at specific age groups. Children delight in clambering into the play loft in the upper storey of a large red barn, scrambling onto the outdoor tire climb and slide, exploring the tree house, and driving the old tractor that in fact doesn’t go anywhere.
