Details / Bruce Peninsula National Park
The Bruce Peninsula boasts a wide range of habitats and a variety of wildflowers and plants that is unique in Canada. More than 60 species of orchid grow in Ontario, 43 of them on this small peninsula. Almost half the world’s dwarf lake irises also grow within the park, as do most of Canada’s Indian plantains.
The most spectacular section of the Bruce Trail is Georgian Bay Trail, which lies north of Cyprus Lake. From Halfway Rock Point you can see Flowerpot and Bears Rump Islands. The Horse Lake Trail, less than a mile long, is a good way to see many of the park’s natural habitats. It meanders through marshes, around lakes through dense forest, and along the shore.
