Details / Chapleau Crown Game Preserve
Straddling the heights between the Arctic and Atlantic watersheds, the park is the logical starting place for 2,000 miles of canoeable rivers and lakes.
Canoeing is the most popular nature adventure in the preserve. The most popular rivers are the Missinaibi and the Chapleau. The Kesagami River, which begins in the lake of the same name, is often described as Ontario’s wildest paddling river.
Camping is permitted anywhere on this crown land, as long as you have a permit. Racine Lake is the largest in the preserve, and has two campgrounds along its shores.
