Details / Woodland Caribou Provincial Park
The creatures for which the park is named are secretive, but more and more caribou are spotted by keen-eyed canoers every year.
The park has six traditional entry points for canoeists, five of which can be reached by driving along a forest access road from either Red Lake or Ear Falls. The park can also be accessed by canoe from the Manitoba side at these four entry points: Oiseau Creek, Garner Lake, Wanipigow River, and Carroll Lake.
Park consists of countless smaller elongated lakes and creek systems, all bordered by typical Shield glaciated landscape. Spectacular sport fishing awaits anglers on almost any canoe foray into the park – a few times a year the fish are plentiful.
