The Toronto Zoo provides a fun and educational experience for families travelling with kids of all ages, though it is not in the most accessible of locations. The zoo houses over 5,000 animals on its 284 hectares.

Organized by geography, zoo highlights include the African Rainforest, including the popular Gorilla Rainforest Exhibit, the African Savannah and the Canadian Domain sections. Most areas of the zoo feature both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas. The zoo features a few rides to go along with the animal exhibits, including camel and pony rides, and the Zoomobile, an open-air tram that transports visitors around the facility, complete with running commentary. All rides require an additional fee.
