Details / Virginia Robinson Gardens
Sited on a 6.2-acre hillside, just north of the Beverly Hills Hotel, the former home of department-store heir Harry Robinson and his wife Virginia is ranked as the oldest estate in Beverly Hills. Virginia bequeathed the Mediterranean-style villa and its divine grounds to Los Angeles County.
Virginia’s green thumb, with the assistance of twelve gardeners, created five distinctive garden areas, consisting of Italian Terrace, Formal Mall, Rose, and Kitchen gardens, as well as the main residence and Renaissance Revival Pool Pavilion.
Fountains, ponds, brick pathways, and groves of camellias, gardenias, and king palms are amongst the meanderings, along with specimen trees and rare plantings.
