Coney Island meets Hollywood at Belmont Park, a raucous amusement park in the heart of Mission Beach. Unveiled at the height of the Roaring Twenties, it offers a mixed bag of fun – thrill rides, arcade games, and carnie food in a setting that evokes bygone days by the shore.

The park’s centrepiece is the celebrated Giant Dipper, a wooden roller coaster considered a state-of-the-art thrill ride when it opened in 1925. The San Diego Coaster Company renovated the Giant Dipper and now runs the roller coaster itself.

Belmont Park boasts a number of other classic rides including the Liberty Carousel, Tilt-a-Whirl, Vertical Plunge, and bumper cars.
