Details / Zion National Park
Zion is Utah’s oldest national park and one of its most beloved tourist destinations. Zion may me Utah’s most accessible park. Visitors can enjoy a stay in its lovely lodge, or walk along paved hiking trails to the more popular attractions.
Large developed campgrounds, a children’s nature centre, visitor facilities at both Zion Canyon and Kolob Canyon, ranger-guided hikes, naturalist programs, and evening campfire talks provide even more options for visitors.
Zion is essentially a wild place full of unexpected adventures for those wiling to escape the confines of their cars and o some exploring. An easy stroll of just over a mile takes you to the Emerald Pools. The truly adventurous hiker may choose to get wet in the ‘narrows’ a popular hike in the waters of the Virgin River.
More and more adventurers explore Zion by backpacking into canyons. Backcountry explorers may not always see wildlife like cougar, ringtail cat, bobcat, coyote, mule deer, and fox, but they can see signs of these critters in the dry sandy washes or on the banks of the tiny creeks that flow through this land of standing rocks.
